Welcome to North Star Martial Arts!
North Star Karate is a non-profit, Christ centered,
martial arts ministry, started in Birmingham in 1998, as a recreational and
outreach ministry to our community. We are a member of the International Christian
Martial Arts Association (ICMA), founded by Master Jerry Wiles of south
Florida, and a member of the International Fellowship of Christian Martial
Artists (IFCMA), founded by Soke Max Andrews of Atlanta.
North Star Karate is dedicated to providing a Christ centered opportunity
for individuals and families to learn and practice the self-defense
principles taught in the Tang Soo Do Korean style of karate.
We also offer women’s self-defense seminars and karate birthday parties
for children.

We have 3 Locations!
HOMEWOOD: We offer after school classes for all levels of Junior
(non-adult) athletes at the Homewood Recreation Center, located at the
corner of Oxmoor Road and Central Avenue.
INVERNESS: Youth classes are also offered at Christ Church United
Methodist on Caldwell Mill Road, on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
WILDWOOD: Our Family
Classes meet at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church on Tuesday and
Thursday evenings.
Outreach Demonstration Team
Our professional outreach team, "Team Trinity," travels around the
region
performing high action karate demonstrations in schools, clubs, and
churches. We have even taken a demonstration teams to Venezuela and Northern
Ireland on a short
term mission trips.
